Greeting
The center of logistics and maritime
tourism in the Southwest!

Hello!

I am Mun-su Jeong, Director General of the Mokpo Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries.

Come and have a chance to meet a modernized and very convenient Mokpo port facilityies that will save your time and retrench your expenses as compared to other ports.
I sincerely welcome everyone visiting our Port Office website for the first time.

Centered around the Port of Mokpo a Port that boasts a history and tradition spanning 122 years since its establishment our Port Office oversees shipping, maritime and port affairs as an affiliate of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries across 2 si-level municipalities and 12 gun-level municipalities in Gwangju-si and the Southwestern region of Jeollanam-do.

Since Mokpo is the region that operates the largest number of passenger liners in the country, everyone at our Port Office including myself will do our best to create a safe maritime traffic environment.

Also, we will increase Mokpo's role as an international maritime, tourism, and distribution hub, and improve marine transportation for the convenience of inhabitants residing in the islands off our coast. In addition, we will consistently direct our efforts in creating a marine environment bursting full of life.

With an administration that communicates with those out in the field, we will do our best to become an organization that contributes to regional development and is loved by the people.

We ask for your interest and advice so that our Port Office can lead the way in creating a world-class maritime nation of the 21st century.

Mun-su Jeong Director General
